High Grass Hideout Studios
Elana Scheiner
Elana Scheiner's journey began in the bustling city of New York and the suburbs of New Jersey, but she has called North Carolina home since 1998, immersing herself in the warmth and charm of the Tar Heel State. By day, Elana is an optometrist, providing essential primary care eye exams and specializing in low vision services, which serve as a lifeline for the visually impaired and legally blind population. On weekends, she showcases her musical talents, diving into a diverse musical journey with her instrument of choice—the cello.
With 18 years of experience, Elana has lent her cello skills to various bands and recorded with local singer-songwriters, venturing far beyond classical genres. Alongside her main collaborator, Mysti Mayhem, she has explored blues, folk, rock, country, and even pop music, showcasing her passion for creative expression. Academically, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Rutgers College and an Optometry Doctorate from the New England College of Optometry.
Working with High Grass Hideout Studios has been an immensely rewarding experience for Elana. The camaraderie within the online community, especially in the group chat, has provided inspiration and joy, while collaborating with Gage, the mastermind behind orchestrating the score, has encouraged her to explore new creative horizons.
A fun tidbit that might surprise you: just a few years ago, Elana had the exhilarating experience of sitting in with a local Dio-era Black Sabbath cover band, adding a memorable chapter to her eclectic musical journey.
